Description: Tipu is an acclaimed South Indian playback singer who has sung over 4,700 songs in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages. He is very famous for voice modulation and articulated rendition in all languages. Tipu won the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer and he was also awarded the Kalaimamani by the Government of Tamil Nadu in 2007. Tipu is married to Harini, a South Indian playback and classical singer. She has sung over 4,300 songs in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada languages. Harini learnt Carnatic music from Gowri and Radha Viswanathan from the age of four. In her later years, she learned from Sudha Raghunathan, Suguna Purushotthaman, and Lalitha Santhanam. She has been the recipient of several awards. To name a few, she received state awards twice from the Tamil Nadu Government, Madras Cultural Academy Awards in 1997, ITFA Best Female Playback Award in 2004. The couple has been long standing devotees of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and has sung on several festive occasions in Brindavan, Bengaluru. The couple has also lent their voice for songs sung during the dramas in the divine presence staged by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Tamil Nadu.
